Glock 42 Buy - I bought mine at the end of the first year it came out and I have had no problems with it. I often wear a suit and carry mine in my jacket's inside breast pocket or Vedder's tuckable IWB (attachment) in my Uncle Mike's pocket without anyone noticing.
This gun has very low recoil. My kids 9-12 shot this with me at the range and they had no problem shooting it. My oldest is a G26 and G23 / G19 (I have a barrel conversion...thanks!) and he loves shooting the G42.

I didn't like this trigger, so I got the 3.5 pound connector to reduce the long pull with a tight break. Maybe it's the size and weight of the gun, but the trigger seems to have a long pull and the break is "difficult" to disengage.

This is the first Glock I have ever purchased and I have no regrets! A friend suggested it to me. He said I should get 42 or 43. I chose the 42 for its compactness and ease of concealment. Don't expect to get 43 at the end. Traded my Taurus 738 for this gun. He faced many problems and got stuck. No problem with the Glock. Looking forward to putting a few rounds through it on the range.
Plus fun to shoot. Had a Ruger LC9s, for my wrists and thumbs (poorly attached with arthritis and dislocated thumbs), my son's G43...dual stack no thumbs (G26)...best for me. Small, light, easy to shoot (accurate!), very effective and 'just right' ammo (I like the Lehigh Xtreme Defender).
Newbie, I love shooting too. My original Glock 19 was purchased in 2014 and I am learning to handle, clean, etc. Since I signed up for a concealed weapons permit, I've been using most of the last 4 weeks, since I almost passed the shooting part. The It seems like it should be easy. But as the class approached, I realized that I didn't want to carry a big gun. I love my Baby Glock! It's cute, but don't let the "cuteness" fool you! The gun packs a wallop! No noticeable recoil for me, but shooting is a bit surprising as the gun has very little to absorb the fireworks! The Glock 42 is the smallest GLOCK with extremely compact dimensions and easy-to-shoot features. It features Glock's Safe Action system, which provides a consistent trigger from the first round to the last. Three independently operating automatic mechanical safeties are built into the pistol's fire control system. All three safeties disengage in sequence when the trigger is pulled and automatically reengage when the trigger is released. The frame is made of polymer and rigid steel guides. It has a good grip angle and low weight. Hold the magazine easily with the slide stop lever and firing hand. Advanced surface treatment of the slide creates optimal feel by significantly reducing wear and makes it corrosion resistant even when operating in saltwater conditions. Matte surface minimizes light reflection. The barrel is mechanically locked and a cold hammer is forged. It also has the same complex surface treatment as the slide. The extractor acts as a loaded chamber indicator in accordance with the laws of some countries and its position can visually and physically indicate whether there is a cartridge in the chamber of the pistol.
